Day 16: President Obama's Schedule

President Obama will start his sixteenth day in office with closed daily and economic briefings as well as a meeting with senior advisors in the Oval office.

Late morning, President Obama and Secretary Geithner will speak about executive compensation in the White House's Grand Foyer. He will also meet with Secretary of State Clinton and Middle East envoy George Mitchell midday.

The House is expected to pass a bill to expand the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) by $32 billion dollars to cover an additional 4 million children today. President Obama will sign the legislation in the East room this afternoon.

This evening President and Mrs. Obama will attend the Caucus Leadership Cocktail reception. Here is the breakdown, from the White House press office:

9 :15am ET: President Obama recieves his daily economic briefing

9:45am ET: President Obama recieves his daily briefing

10:15am ET:President Obama meets with senior advisors

11:00 am ET: President Obama and Treasury Secretary Geithner will speak about executive compensation

11:50am ET: President Obama will meet with Secretary of State Clinton and Ambassador Mitchell in the Oval Office

12:15pm ET: President Obama and Vice President Biden have lunch

4:30pm ET: President Obama signs new SCHIP legislation

5:05pm ET: President Obama meets with Interior Secretary Salazar in the Oval Office

7:30pm ET: The Obamas attend the Caucus Leadership cocktail reception

Also, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs will brief members of the press at 1:30pm ET today.
