Cops: Fla. woman, upset with "Judge Judy," hit friend with hammer while he watched show

(CBS) JUPITER, Fla. - A 62-year-old woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly hit her friend over the head with a hammer while he watched "Judge Judy" on TV.

According to the Palm Beach Post, police were called to the home of Janet Knowles, 62, where they found a 65-year-old man holding bloody paper towels to his head.

The man, whose name has not been released, told authorities that Knowles had become "upset" because Judge Judy was on TV, and then proceeded to hit him with a hammer while he sat in a recliner, reports the Post.

When questioned, Knowles reportedly began talking about what a neighbor was wearing and was unable to hold a conversation with police during the investigation. She was arrested on aggravated domestic battery charges and is being held without bond.
