Chicago cops investigating videotaped beating of 17-year-old boy

(CBS) CHICAGO - Police are looking for up to seven suspects whose brutal beating of a 17-year-old was videotaped and posted on YouTube, reports CBS Chicago.

The victim was jumped by seven people just after 4 p.m. Sunday. He was robbed of his gym shoes, wallet and money, said police.

The video shows the suspects chasing and surrounding the boy and relentlessly attacking him, reports CBS Chicago. They drag him, punch him and kick him. Some of the assailants hit the boy with chunks of ice and choke him. This goes on for 3 minutes and 39 seconds.

Finally, he lies there helpless and beaten.

The video was posted on YouTube and removed twice. But a Reddit page on the attack drew more than 500 comments.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the boy was treated for lacerations at a local hospital and released.
