Docs: Ex-SeaWorld worker stole over $100K from water park
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A former SeaWorld supervisor has been charged with stealing as much as $116,000 from the company's Aquatica waterpark in Orlando.
Lisa Olivardia was charged last Saturday with grand theft and scheme to defraud.
An investigative affidavit from the Orange County Sheriff's Office says Olivardia voided ticket sales and pocketed the money. The affidavit says she took money from the cash drawers of other employees while they were on breaks.
According to the affidavit, she was fired last November. A SeaWorld spokeswoman didn't respond to an email requesting comment.
The voicemail box was full for a phone number listed under Olivardia's name. Court records showed no lawyer representing her.
The affidavit says Olivardia admitted to committing the crimes because she had fallen into considerable debt.
She was released on $105,000 bail.
