NEW YORK (CBS/WCBS) A brutal mugging that was caught on tape in a subway in lower Manhattan has left an 81-year-old woman with a broken shoulder, and a strong resolve to punish her attacker.

When asked what she would like the police to do once they catch her assailant Madeline Klima told CBS station WCBS,  "It's hard to say. We would say hang 'em, but we don't do this today."

Strong words; you can take a look at the video.

Klima was returning home to Brooklyn after cleaning office buildings when she was attacked from behind in the  Manhattan subway station at Fulton Street.

"Oohh flying. Picked me up and like, threw me. And went down, and blood, you know. But I couldn't get up," Klima tells the station, of what she remembers of the attack.

The video shows Klima standing at a turnstile when what appears to be another woman runs up behind her and grabs her arm, throwing her to the ground like a ragdoll before running off with Klima's purse.

Klima told WCBS that she was stunned by how much force the woman used, asking "Why? Why'd she have to hurt so much? She wanted it so bad she could have asked for it."

Klima fractured and dislocated her shoulder in the fall and her eye is heavily bruised. She also needed stitches above her eye. Klima said she had several paychecks in her pocketbook that she hadn't deposited yet.

Police said the suspect is dark skinned, in her 20s, about 5-foot-10 and nearly 200 pounds.

If you recognize the suspect, please call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All information is kept confidential.
