Biden uses executive privilege on Hur tapes

President Biden is asserting executive privilege over recordings of his interview with special counsel Robert Hur, according to letters sent from the White House and Justice Department to two GOP-led House committees. Congressional Republicans sought the recordings as part of their impeachment probe into the president and are now considering holding Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for denying their request. Garland addresses Uvalde shooting response

The Department of Justice has released a report Thursday on the law enforcement response to the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Attorney General Merrick Garland said a series of failures contributed to breakdowns during all phases of the response. Felipe Rodriguez, a former NYPD detective sergeant, joins CBS News with insight on law enforcement critical response training, and CBS News correspondent Lilia Luciano reports from Uvalde, Texas.
