Obama makes his case for Syria strike, says diplomacy still deserves more time

President Obama told the nation a widespread use of chemical weapons threatens the U.S. and its allies and insisted the case against the Assad regime in Syria is solid. But the president asked Congress to put off a vote authorizing a military strike while his administration pursues a possible diplomatic solution.
