The CW 2014 Upfront Recap

Each year, TV networks across the nation get together for the Upfront to watch previews of Fall's upcoming shows. CW's Upfront was today, May 15th, and I still have a buzz from all of the excitement! Throughout the spring season, we have teased you with hints about the fall season. The time has finally come to share the fall line up. Here is your Fall 2014-2015 CW44 Weeknight Lineup:

This has been a rough week for CW fans. We are still mourning the season finales of our faves The Originals, ArrowTVD and Reign and we can't wait for those shows to come back into our lives. But lucky for us, we have some amazing new programming to look forward to on top of our current favorites.

Jane the Virgin | Jane the Virgin is a charming comedy (yay for comedy!) that looks like the perfect break to a drama filled week. It is comedy with a spicy, Latin edge. Jane the Virgin stars Gina Rodriguez as Jane, a young woman determined not to make the same mistake her mother made – becoming an unwed mother at 16. Jane is determined to remain a virgin until marriage, but everything changes at a routine visit to the doctor. She is accidentally artificially inseminated with a specimen meant for the patient in the next room! A few weeks later, the unsuspecting Jane is faced with the most important decisions of her life. Will she continue with the pregnancy?

The Flash | The Flash will be the perfect addition to our super-hero family! We met the Flash, played by Grant Gustin, in an episode of Arrow earlier this season. As we hoped, Flash earned himself a permanent spot in our fall lineup. The Flash is the story of Barry Allen. His life completely changes when Barry is struck by lightning. After nine months in a coma, Barry awakens to find that the accident has given him the power of super speed. We can't wait for Barry Allen, aka Flash, to join our CW family.

The fun doesn't stop there, folks! The midseason will bring us some exciting surprises, as well. The Messengers and iZombie will join the family in the fall midseason.

The Messengers | In the white-hot sun of the New Mexico desert, scientist Vera Ivanov watches in fascination as a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash, sending out a shock wave that briefly stops her heart. But Vera is not the only one affected by the blast: she is instantly and mysteriously connected to four other strangers, who also collapse only to miraculously come back to life hours later. The wheels of Revelation have begun to turn, and this group of strangers might be the only hope for preventing the impending Rapture…or causing it.

iZombie | Olivia "Liv" Moore was a rosy-cheeked, disciplined, over-achieving medical resident who had her life path completely mapped out…until the night she attended a party that unexpectedly turned into a zombie feeding frenzy. As one of the newly undead, Liv is doing her best to blend in and look as human as possible. While working at the Seattle coroner's office, she can secretly snack on the brains of her "clients." But soon she realizes that with every brain she consumes, she retains a portion of that person's memories.
