New Characters Coming to Mystic Falls

When season 4 of The Vampire Diaries ended last Spring, our favorite characters had just graduated and were preparing to start a new phase in their lives. Our main characters are going away to Whitmore College and The Original vampires are moving to New Orleans (and a new spin-off The Originals). This brings up the question: how will the show make up for the loses of Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah?

The co-creator and writer of the show, Julie Plec, answered this question in an interview she had with TV Line. "We're definitely going to be entering an entire new world at Whitmore College, so we'll get to meet new friends and new enemies." Plec tells TV Line. "There'll be a lot of new people entering our universe that we'll get to know well - and then also maybe some new romantic interests for some of our characters"

Since the interview, some casting news have been revealed. The show is looking for actors to play three new characters:

  • Nadia is described as an emotional beauty in her 20s who has traveled around the world with a mission of vengeance. During her traveling around Europe, she meets Matt and Rebekah in Prague. She will come to Mystic Falls to deliver a warning to Stefan about The Originals. What do you think is the message Nadia has to tell Stefan?

  • Megan is described as hard-working and especially intelligent. She will also be in her 20s, but she will meet the other characters because she attends the Mystic Falls High School 1950s dance and gets close to Jeremy.
  • Jesse is an upperclassman in his mid-20s who gets close to Caroline. With Tyler still out of  town and Klaus moving to The Originals, maybe it's time that Caroline has fun with someone new. Also, Jesse is charming, confident and sweet which is what Caroline needs right now. The only problem is that he is a human and has many reasons for disliking members of the undead, which might cause some fights between them in the future.

Are you excited about the new characters?!? Do you have any actors in mind to play these new characters?
