(AUDIO) Ira Kaufman Says Mark Barron Trade Comes Down To The Current Regime Having No Ties

Ira Kaufman, who covers the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Tampa Tribune, joined Booger and Ryan to discuss the Bucs' trade of safety Mark Barron to the St. Louis Rams for 4th and 6th round picks.

Ira said it simply came down to the team's current regime having no ties to Barron, who was selected by former GM Mark Dominik with the 7th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He also added that Barron couldn't prove himself to Lovie Smith and Jason Licht over the first seven games of the season, so the decision was made to ship him out. When asked why the Bucs didn't try to trade Dashon Goldson, it was because teams weren't interested in him, but if the Bucs could've received the compensation they were looking for, Goldson would've been gone.

As for Vincent Jackson, Ira mentioned that he would've also been sent packing if the Bucs had received what they wanted, but also added that interested teams were probably unwilling to take on Jackson's salary. Click below to listen to the entire conversation!
