Tonight, it will change to snow as temperatures fall, and accumulating snow is possible south of Pittsburgh, mainly along and south of I-70 and I-68, with a winter weather advisory in place for the Ridges and a winter storm warning for parts of the Laurel Highlands where five to eight inches of snow could fall depending on how far north this system tracks.
Totals will be lower farther south, but if it tracks north, areas north of I-70 could see one to two inches of snow.
Sunday night, temperatures will plunge as the Arctic outbreak arrives. Lows will be in the single digits Monday morning, and extremely cold air will remain entrenched across the area through Thursday morning.
Wind chills could reach as low as -25 degrees, so be sure to cover up, limit time outdoors, and be aware of the potential for frostbite.
The cold finally starts to ease by lunchtime Thursday with highs climbing back into the 30s!
