Inspired by the racing legend Dale Earnhardt, Intimidator dominates the skyline at Carowinds in Charlotte, N.C. At 232-feet tall, the ride sends riders plummeting down a 211-foot first drop and then race through more than a mile of high speed twists and turns in excess of 75 miles per hour.
The Expedition GeForce attraction at the Holiday Park in western Germany is ranked fourth on the CoasterFanatics.com site.
Designed by roller coaster guru Werner Stengel and built by Swiss coaster manufacturer Intamin, Expedition GeForce towers 203 feet over Holiday Park's forest. The coaster's first drop is a dramatically unique twisted turn. At a speed of 75 miles per hour, the coaster flies through the forest on 4,265 feet of steel track.
According to CoasterFanatics.com, the ride has a "unique design, inspired by the agility and strength of the brave Matadors." The site describes the attraction as a hybrid design that includes a classic "out-and-back" track with four fast-charging drops, multiple highly-banked turns and a beastly "twister" finale. The site adds, "El Toro will also deliver nine 'airtime' opportunities, giving riders the highly-sought thrill ride sensation of weightlessness."
