Venus Williams told an interviewer her outfit selection was her tribute to New York. "I mean, so far this year my outfits have been based off of cities that I play in," Williams told the New York Daily News, Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010. "This outfit was really about New York. It's like bursts of fireworks."

Wimbeldon's strict dress code didn't stop Venus Williams from flaunting her personal style. The 30-year-old athlete channeled Tina Turner by wearing fringed white dress during her match against Jarmila Groth of Australia on June, 28, 2010, in London. "I think it's just a fun, elegant dress," she told the Associated Press. "Obviously she's (Turner) just an amazing, amazing artist, just a survivor. She reinvented herself. Plus she looks great. I've loved her forever. So the dress is really inspired by her."
