Bucks County School Teacher Gets Community Service After Stealing From Coworker
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - A former elementary school teacher in the Central Bucks School District has avoided a prison sentence after admitting that she stole several thousand dollars from a fellow teacher at Groveland Elementary School in Plumstead.
A Bucks County judge today sentenced Carolyn Trymbiski of Doylestown to three years of probation and 100 hours of community service on misdemeanor charges of theft, identity theft, and receiving stolen property.
Prosecutor Lindsay Vaughan says the 33-year-old mother of three told the court that she stole the money because she was under pressure to pay back a relative from whom she had borrowed money.
"She admitted to taking her colleague's identification and a deposit slip and using those things in order to withdraw five thousand dollars from her account," says Vaughan.
The money has since been repaid.
Trymbiski's attorney told the court that his client was suffering from untreated postpartum depression at the time of the crime, late last year.
Trymbiski apologized in court to her victim and to her family. She was fired from her job because of the charges.
