Stewart: It's A Wonderful Career

It passed with little fanfare, but Friday was correspondent Jim Stewart's last day at CBS News.

Over at Public Eye, Jim sat down for a chatabout his nearly four decades in the news business.

We marked his retirement here some weeks back.

It's rare these days to find a reporter on television who actually began in the inky world of print. But Jim was that rarity, and his roots in newspapering were evident in his methodical reporting and clarion writing. He respected nouns and verbs and compound sentences and dependent clauses.

Bless him. He'll be missed.
