Lots of people who've had wet parades and cookouts joke about weekends being rainy. So, some scientists decided to find out whether weekends really are wetter than weekdays.
They looked at weather reports for one area over the last 50 years. They were surprised to find that weekends do have more rain, especially Saturdays.
For every 100 inches of rain that fall on Mondays, 122 inches fall on Saturdays.
Why should the weather be on a seven-day schedule? The scientists think it's probably because people are on a seven-day schedule.
We make most of our pollution from Monday through Friday. It may be our weekday pollution that makes our weekends so wet.
