(CBS) How does Sofia Vergara keep that amazing bikini body with all the curves in the right places?
The 37-year-old Emmy-nominated "Modern Family" star says she is "addicted to sugar," but sucks on lollipops to curb her craving for much worse.
"My problem is desserts. I am obsessed with desserts," she told Shape magazine.
"I am sure it's not good," she said of those darn lollipops, "but it's better than ordering tiramisu, which is what I really want to do."
More seriously, Vergara told Shape that she keeps a solid diet and exercise regimen that includes that Tracy Anderson dance method.
"I am not very obsessed with dieting and working out, but I always do it," she said. "I try to do everything in moderation. With age, I realize I have to do it more and more, unfortunately."
Vergara said she is lucky that her television character is supposed to be curvy.
"People expect... a woman to be a little more voluptuous. So they don't expect you to be really thin," she told Shape. "So it's easier for me. I don't really have to keep myself. Because I have to fill all those outfits, you know. They want to see Gloria like a voluptuous woman."
On "Modern Family," Gloria is the sharp-witted, hot-tempered wife of "Married with Children" alumni Ed O'Neill.
But in real life, Vergara has not always been as lucky.
In 2000, she secretly battled thyroid cancer and eventually had her thyroid gland removed, according to an interview with Health.com.
"When you go through something like this, it's hard, but you learn a lot from it," she told them. "Your priorities change. You don't sweat the small stuff. And it had a good ending."
Vergara currently has an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
