Senators Give Mlakar New Deal

The Ottawa Senators gave president and chief executive officer Roy Mlakar a three-year contract extension on Friday.

Mlakar, who took the jobs with the NHL team in June 1996 after serving as a consultant, now has an agreement with Ottawa until the end of the 2001-02 season.

His duties were extended in April of this year to include the role of president and CEO of the Senators' arena, the Corel Centre, in Kanata, Ontario, about 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa.
