Florida State defensive end David Warren was hospitalized briefly Wednesday after collapsing, but released after doctors were unable to find anything wrong with him.
Florida State spokesman Rob Wilson said Warren, a sophomore from Tyler, Texas, was discovered unconscious about noon on the floor of his dormitory room by roommate Donald Heaven, who immediately called team trainers.
They revived Warren, who was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Regional Center. Preliminary tests by emergency room personnel were negative, Wilson said, noting that Warren would be examined further Thursday by neurologists.
"We're trying to find out exactly what happened to him," Wilson said. "He does not have a previous history of having seizures."
Wilson said there was a lot of blood on the floor resulting from Warren biting his tongue when he collapsed.
Warren, who had 16 tackles and one sack as a freshman, was expected to see significant playing time this year as a backup.
