Norman Wins Wet Heineken

Not even a typhoon could prevent Magnus Norman from winning another final.

The second-seeded Swede rallied for his fifth title of the year with a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over top-seeded Marcelo Rios in the Heineken Open Monday.

Norman improved to 5-0 in finals this year, winning previously in Long Island, Orlando, Stuttgart and Umag.

The final was postponed from Sunday after it was rained out in a deluge triggered by a typhoon.

It was the first time the two players met in their careers.

"I don't know why but this week I cannot manage to focus from the very beginning. As the match goes on, I gradually keep focused," Norman said.

In the doubles final, Sebastien Lareau and Daniel Nestor of Canada defeated Australians Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde 7-5, 6-3.
