NASA video: Watch the world burn

You don't need to be a fire bug to appreciate this NASA video, which combines global fire data with satellite views of vegetation and snow cover to demonstrate how fires relate to seasonal changes. One big surprise: Since 2002, literally tens of millions of fires have broken out on Earth. Also of note: some 70 percent of them taking place in Africa. For comparison's sake, just 2 percent of the global fires took place in North America.
