Mother Nature Network Finds Enough In 'Plenty'; Buys Assets

This story was written by Rafat Ali.

Mother Nature Network, the Atlanta-based online environment news network started earlier this year by longtime Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell, has acquired the assets of Plenty, a four-year-old print magazine and website. This comes after reports last year that Al Gore was interested in scooping up the assets, but those talks ended late last year. Plenty folded the magazine and website earlier this year due to lack of funding. With this deal, existing content from Plenty will be merged into MNN.com's news and information, and visitors to the Plenty site will be redirected to MNN.com.

MNN hired former Forbes chairman and publisher James Berrien as president and COO late last month. More from MNN's own note and the release.
