It's Simple Don't Be Late Next Time

Hillary Clinton campaign rally New York

She got here late. That's what a powerful politically connected supporter of Hillary Clinton told me in Iowa last December.

The woman could not have been a bigger fan….and her message was a simple as could be. She got here late.

Just a few months before, Senator Clinton was viewed as the inevitable candidate. But, a funny thing happened on the way to the nomination. Barack Obama out organized her in Iowa, and his victory there gave his supporters the credibility his long shot campaign needed.

Suddenly hope and change had momentum. But, Senator Clinton showed serious pluck. She reshaped her message, honed her campaigning skills and worked like the devil. And by Tuesday night six months later, she had come this close to getting the nomination.

As she contemplates what to do next she may be thinking about what she could have done differently to win. It's simple, next time don't be late.
