The Cleveland Indians put pitcher Chad Ogea on the 15-day disabled list Friday, his third stint on the injured list this season.
Ogea has tendinitis in the middle finger of his throwing hand. He already has missed 10 weeks with injuries, after knee surgery during spring training and a strained right pectoral muscle in mid-June.
The move is retroactive to July 30.
Ogea has started seven games, compiling a 4-2 record with a 5.59 ERA.
The Indians also purchased the contract of infielder Jeff Manto from Buffalo Friday and sent infielder-outfielder Richie Sexson to the same team. Manto was hitting .314 with 19 home runs and 52 RBIs in 48 games for Buffalo after being released by the Detroit Tigers in June.
Sexson was hitting .297 with 20 doubles, 21 home runs, and 74 RBIs for Buffalo, where he made the International League All-Star team. He hit .200 for the Indians in eight games.
