Orlando Magic guard Penny Hardaway challenged NBA vice president of operations Rod Thorn and it cost him.
Hardaway, who was critical of the officiating crew of Ronnie Nunn, Sean Corbin and Rashan Michel following Sunday's 84-78 loss at Miami, today was fined $7,500 by Thorn.
"I've been in the league six years," Hardaway said following the loss. "I think I deserve a call when I get fouled. ... At the end I get fouled right in front of (the referee's) face and he says, `It's crunch time. Don't say anything to me.'
"I don't care about getting fined, I don't care about Rod Thorn calling. I'm just sick and tired of looking at the stat sheet and I'm 3-for-14 or 3-for-16 and half of those plays are people fouling me."
The Magic are currently atop the Atlantic Division with an 11-4 record.
