Dubai woman sues ex-husband for $12 million for depriving her of conjugal rights
(CBS) - A Dubai woman is suing her ex-husband for 45 million dirhams (about $12 million) because he wouldn't have sex with her during their marriage.
The unidentified woman told the court her ex-husband suffers from sexual impotency which caused her mental and emotional anguish by failing to fulfill her needs, it was reported Wednesday by Gulf News, an English language newspaper in the Arab emirate.
The woman said her ex-husband would not have sex with her in the first 4 months of the 15 month marriage that began in 2008.
She alleges he also forced her to have "inhumane sex" when they finally consummated the marriage, according to Gulf News.
"He was exactly the opposite of what he claimed to me before we signed the marriage contract. I suffered mentally, emotionally and lost any hope to become a mother," she reportedly said.
The woman also claims her then-husband forced her to leave her job and took her jewelry after the divorce leaving her financially ruined.
Gulf News reports that according to records the defendant is a wealthy man who has reportedly been married 12 times.
The case is being heard in Dubai courts.
