The mother of a congressional intern who disappeared six years ago is back in the nation's capital. Susan Levy is scheduled to meet with Washington D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier on Thursday to urge her to help find the person responsible for her daughter's death.
Chandra Levy's remains were found in Rock Creek Park five years ago this week. The death of the young woman from Modesto, Calif., is among thousands of cold cases on the books. No one has ever been charged with Levy's murder.
Susan Levy says she's hoping Lanier will help clear the case. Levy's family continues to operate a Web site in an effort to generate new leads in the case. WhokilledChandra.com is designed to accept leads anonymously.
Lanier says during the closed-door meeting, she'll try to make sure that Levy and her husband are comfortable with the information they've collected during the investigation into the case.
