Brush Fire Blazes In Texas

A brush fire burned out of control Sunday night in central Texas. Between 500 and 800 acres of brush were engulfed by several grass fires, CBS News Affiliate KEYE-TV in Austin, Texas reports.

Officials did not report that any residential homes were in danger, but at least one structure in the area near Fischer, Texas, was destroyed.

Volunteer firefighters from Comal County tried to contain the blaze, which continued to burn Monday morning. Officials don't know how the fire began, but the arid conditions in central Texas may have been a factor.

Three counties, including Comal, have called in the state forestry department for heavier equipment to battle the blaze.
