No sooner did I post a piece about how finance industry bonuses are out of whack than Goldman's board voted to have no bonuses for 2008. Most of the top dogs will get a measely $600,000 for the year.
Beau Geste, perhaps, but it sure is timely. Godlman is sending a message that Lords of the Universe investment firms shouldn't benefit from disaster. And if that message gets repeated on Wall Street and elsewhere, maybe we'll all be getting somewhere.
