Chico Fletcher hit a running jump shot as time expired in regulation, then Micah Marsh hit a key 3-pointer in overtime as Arkansas State rallied to beat Louisiana Tech 82-78 on Monday night.
Omar Cooper put Louisiana Tech (7-12, 4-7 Sun Belt Conference) ahead 64-62 with five seconds left, but Fletcher drove the length of the floor and leapt from just inside the free-throw line to sink the basket with 0.1 second left.
In overtime, Arkansas State (15-6, 9-2) traded baskets with Louisiana Tech until Marsh hit a 3-pointer to put the Indians ahead for good with 3:19 left.
Marsh, who made 5-10 from the 3-point arc, finished with 24 points. Fletcher and Antonio Harvey, who also played a key role in the closing seconds of regulation, each had 18.
Lonnie Cooper had 33 to lead the Bulldogs, and Omar Cooper had 15 before fouling out in overtime. Three other Bulldogs also fouled out.
Louisiana Tech led 62-57 with 35 seconds left in regulation when Courtney Hargrays committed his fifth foul and Fletcher hit both free throws. Harvey then hit a 3-pointer with about 18 seconds left to temporarily tie the game at 62.
