Former Charlie's Angels star Cheryl Ladd is in New York City promoting her new film, A Dog of Flanders. And as CBS News This Morning Co-Anchor Mark McEwen reports, a trip to New York for Ladd means more than work: It's a golden opportunity to shop.
Even with a new movie to promote, Ladd found time to stop by Bloomingdale's to update her wardrobe. But after hours of shopping, she found that she's right in style.
"I came to the store wearing this outfit - sleeveless turtleneck sweater - and the lady was telling me I'm right in fashion; I'm cutting edge. I couldn't believe it," she says.
In her new film, A Dog of Flanders, Ladd plays the miller's wife, so designer clothes weren't exactly appropriate for her role. But those flashy bell-bottoms and platform shoes from her Charlie's Angels days are a must this fall.
"I really like slim pants with the bell-bottoms because that retro look that we wore in Charlie's Angels is now back and that is kind of that look I'm going for again," Ladd explains.
"I think it's very flattering, gives you a nice long leg and nice shape," she says. "And platform shoes are back; can you imagine? And for me, I'm almost 5 foot 4 so I like being tall. So I love platform shoes."
"I don't know, I think I'm back in style. Everything old is new again," Ladd says.
A Dog of Flanders is in theaters now. And for all the Charlie's Angels fans, Ladd says, there may be a feature film coming out soon. And actress Cameron Diaz is rumored to be cast as one of the angels.
