After A Lifetime, Brothers Finally Meet

Until two weeks ago, William Bradley Munsell and Donald Glover had never met. After all, they lived 3,000 miles apart. It took a younger generation, and an appeal to The Early Show, to unite them.

Their face-to-face reunion is a fitting beginning for the show's special series called "Magic Moments."

In just a few hours on the Internet, Sally Austin tracked down William Bradley Munsell at his home in Coos Bay, Ore., continuing a search begun by her late mother, Marilyn.

"Out of the blue, my father asked me to continue the search," Sally recalls. "I didn't ask him why. I think my dad was feeling lonely since Nov. 6 was the anniversary of my mom's death. This time I went on the Internet and pulled up six William Munsells, and only one had a phone number, and it was the right one."

Hours later, Donald Glover, 68, of Danville, Vt., spoke to his brother William, 71, by telephone for the first time.

Born to a young, unwed mother in the 1930s, Donald was given up to adoptive parents. His brother, William, was raised by grandparents, and thought his mother, Clara, was his sister.

Now, some "Magic Moments" are in store for this long-separated family. William and his wife, Beth, are spending a few days in Vermont with Donald. In Spring 2007, The Early Show will send Bill and Donald away to Mexico for four days courtesy of the online travel company, Luxury Link.
