Domestic violence is the leading cause of death among women in Vermont. In the last decade, 76 percent of adult women killed in domestic situations, died at the hands of current or former husbands or boyfriends. Many never received help.

The Early Show Contributor Debbye Turner has the story of one woman who is on a mission to change that in her home state.

Wynona Ward turned her own life around and in the process, is helping hundreds of other women stand up for themselves. She's been called "the domestic violence road warrior."
