1st Trial Date Set In Killing Of Disabled Woman

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) - The youngest of six suspects who allegedly tortured and murdered a mentally disabled Pittsburgh-area woman is scheduled to go on trial this spring.

A Westmoreland County judge on Thursday ordered 18-year-old Angela Marinucci to stand trial May 2 in the February 2010 death of 30-year-old Jennifer Daugherty.

Investigators say Marinucci and five others forced Daugherty to drink urine and detergent and write a "suicide" note before dumping her body in a school parking lot about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for three of the suspects and say plea deals are possible for two others.

Marinucci was 17 at the time of the killing and wants her case moved to juvenile court. A hearing on that request is scheduled for April 11.
