Light snow overnight Wednesday in Twin Cities, followed by arctic blast
MINNEAPOLIS — A strong cold front is headed for Minnesota, bringing light snow in time for the Wednesday morning commute.
The snow will fall overnight with most of the Twin Cities expected to see less than a half inch.
Wednesday will be frigid, with single-digit highs in the afternoon and wind chills as low as minus 20. That cold air will take us below zero come nighttime.
The metro will fall below zero for the first time this season early Thursday, with single-digit highs expected.
The weekend will warm up, possibly above freezing, with a small chance of light snow Friday or Saturday in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. There is also a chance the metro could see highs near 40 degrees early next week.
