In a lengthy manifesto posted online, Dorner wrote, “I know most of you who personally know me are in disbelief to hear from media reports that I am suspected of committing such horrendous murders. I know I will be villified by the LAPD and the media. Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name.”

Corner is believed to have ambushed two Los Angeles police officers in Corona at about 1 a.m.

The officers, who were in Corona on protection detail of one of the individuals named in Dorner's manifesto, were shot at about 1 a.m. One officer was grazed by gunfire.

Officers Watching For Dorner Shoot At Truck
With all of Southern California's law enforcement agencies on high alert, officers shot at a blue truck in Torrance at 5:15 a.m., wounding two women inside. The women were delivering newspapers.
Chief Beck Speaks
At about 11 a.m., LAPD Chief Charlie Beck spoke at a news conference Thursday morning, saying he would tell Dorner to turn himself in. "This has gone far enough. You know, nobody else needs to die."
