Simi Valley Police Department disclosed that officers were dispatched to a Rachel Castillo's home "for a call of suspicious circumstances."

Castillo, 25, was nowhere to be found inside of the home, but officers did locate a significant amount of blood.

"It's kind of hard to tell where it started but there's blood in multiple places," said her sister Emily, who also lives with Rachel. "We have a lot of blood in the house and we're talking abut more than a nosebleed here."

Emily said she last saw her sister on Thursday morning. However, when she returned home in the evening Rachel was gone but her phone, keys and car were still at the apartment.

Rachel is 5'2" tall and weighs around 105 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. It was not immediately clear what she was wearing the last time she was seen.

Her family said she is a single mother, whose children were picked up by their dad on Thursday morning.

"Given the circumstances, it is believed Rachel is at risk," officers said.

Authorities asked anyone with information to contact them immediately at (805) 583-6950.
