Deputies seek information on suspect wanted in fatal San Jacinto shooting
Investigators are seeking help from the public in locating a man who they believe is connected to a deadly shooting that happened in San Jacinto in early-January.
It happened on Jan. 12, according to a post on X from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
While details leading up to the incident remain scarce, they shared two photos of the man they believe to be a person of interest in the incident, identified as Jonathan Elijah Amezola of Corona.
Deputies say that they were called to an unnamed neighborhood that day after receiving calls about an assault, and arrived to find a man suffering from a fatal gunshot wound outside of a home. He was declared dead at the scene and has not yet been identified.
They say that later that same evening, a second potential victim only referred to as a boy, arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They learned that he was in the line of fire where the man was fatally shot.
Deputies describe Amezola as standing about 5-foot-8 and weighing around 135 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
