LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - A search is underway by the game wardens, the Lewisville Fire Department, and the Denton County Sheriff's Office for a swimmer in Lake Lewisville.
Clifford Swofford with the game wardens said a 28-year-old man jumped from a boat into the water at around 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
Swofford said the boat began to drift away and the man could not reach it.
The man's girlfriend threw a life jacket into the water for him, but it did not reach the man.
Swofford said the girlfriend jumped into the water but could not locate the man.
The girlfriend was picked up by a different boat after the one she jumped from floated away from her.
Swofford said the girlfriend is okay.
The search has been suspended for the evening and will resume Monday morning.
This is a developing story.
