Chelsey Jones with the Irving Police Department said that the vehicle left its lane and struck a concrete barrier dividing the regular lanes from the express lanes. The cause of the incident is not known. The driver, presumed to be Glenn, was ejected during the crash.

A passenger in the car suffered minor injuries. It was believed to be Glenn's fiancee.

TDallas County medical examiner's office said Glenn died at Parkland Memorial Hospital at 12:52 am.

The 43-year-old Ohio native played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2003-07.

Glenn played college football for Ohio State University where he was recognized as an All-American.

Glenn was the 7th overall pick in the 1996 NFL draft by the New England Patriots where he played for 6 season. He also played one season for the Green Bay Packers.

"Terry was someone that we all enjoyed very much in his time with the Cowboys. He was a gentle and kind hearted young man" said Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. "We are all terribly saddened by this news of his passing. Too young and too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his loved ones and all of the people who were touched by his life."
