The incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Centerville Road and Broadway Boulevard. Authorities were called about a disturbance in the area, and arrived to find the man dead.
Officers observed a white Chrysler 300 that was stopped in the roadway, and the victim's body on the ground near the car. The man appeared to have received a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was later identified by officials as Ismael Mendez Jr. of Dallas.
