OXNARD - Hello Earthlings,

It's your best friend and radio man KT here. Hope you're doing well. Let's cut this intro short, and get to the nitty gritty.

As I write this, it's Tuesday in Oxnard. We arrived on Saturday night, and by we I mean Ben Rogers, Jeff "Skin" Wade, and I. We've been enjoying our time at the Dulce Vida Tequila Beach House, living the sweet life.

Sunday was the Blue/White scrimmage. It was more like a practice. There's not really a point in going too hard this early. I thought it was interesting that Dak Prescott didn't take any reps during the Blue/White live action full contact portion. It got my brain thinking. This was for 1 of 2 reasons.

Theory 1 is that Dak is their backup and they didn't want him to get hurt, because they are comfortable with where he is in his development. I don't really buy this theory.

Theory 2 is that Showers is the backup, and they are under the gun to find out what he is by giving him as many live reps as possible. I don't really buy this theory either.

I'm incredibly confused about the direction of this QB situation as it currently stands. I think we all think they'll acquire a veteran backup at some point in the near future. I'm not even certain it would be an upgrade, and I'm not in the business of giving away draft inventory, but it sure seems like that's the direction they'll go at some point in the very near future.

I was pleased to see Deji Olatoye getting some reps at safety. That's something I'd never really considered. I think showing that position flexibility really improves his chances of making the team. He's got a long way to go, and he's definitely not a guy i'd pencil in to be on the roster, but it really helps his shot.

There are roster dilemmas at WR and RB as well. Do you carry six WRs? Do you carry four RBs?

Dez, T-Will, Beasley, Brice Butler, Lucky Whitehead seem to be the five, with Andy Jones making an early push in camp. He's a physical player, but I worry about his ability to constantly get separation, as he's not the most fluid player I've ever seen. That being said, he's done a great job and had a really great scrimmage. Devin Street is going to have to put on a special exhibit in the preseason to make the team.

At RB, we know Zeke will be the workhorse. I think Alfred Morris is your RB2. Darren McFadden is injured now, but I think he's got a touch of trade value if another team ends up desperate for a runner due to injury. Darius Jackson has special teams value and I think he sneaks his way on to the roster. Rod Smith has the ability to play fullback, although they don't use that position much at all. I don't think you can carry six WRs and four RBs, so my prediction is that they go with five WR. In sum, Andy Jones needs to put together another solid three weeks.

Oh yeah, we went to the media party last night. That was crazy! Nobu is a pretty awesome spot. I met the co-founder of Happy Madison, Adam Sandler's production company. Ben and Skin kicked around stories with Jerry Jones. It was a great night, and a really cool thing that the Jones family does each year. Say what you want about Jerry, and we know people do, but random owners in sports don't host media parties like this. Much respect, Jerry!

There will be more tales, make sure you enjoy the Ben and Skin Show live on 105.3 The Fan, and also follow for more hi jinx from the trip. I hope you're all doing well back home, and thanks for listening and following along. Signing off, I'm KT, and I love you.
