DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) -A Facebook post by a Denton woman went viral after she picked up the tab for a table "disgusted" by the LGBTQ community and liberals.

Natalie Elle Woods was sitting at a table inside the Snuffers restaurant in Addison when she overheard a man complaining about his relative who was liberal and had just come out as gay.

"I felt ashamed of myself in that moment," said Woods. "I could turn around and say something. I could make out with the girl in front of me. I could cause a scene, be obnoxious."

Instead, Woods paid for their meal and left a note on the receipt.

"Happy holidays from the very gay, very liberal table sitting next to you. Jesus made me this way. P.S. Be accepting of your family," wrote Woods.

Woods took a picture of the receipt before leaving the restaurant and after much thought and a little pressure from her friends, she decided to post it online. Less than 24 hours later, folks started sharing her post and message from around the world.

"I didn't pay these people's mortgage. I didn't save their kid from drowning. All I did was buy them dinner," said Woods.

That was her point, anyone can do it says Woods.

"Get involved and get active. Whether that's locally or on a major scale like donating to the human rights campaign," said Woods.

If she could say anything to the diners who were sitting behind her that day, she hopes they received her sincere message of love.

"I truly don't believe that I probably changed their mind. I don't. But it's all a matter of planting seeds," said Woods.

Snuffer's released the following statement regarding the incident:

"We love when random acts of kindness happen at Snuffer's. Thoughtful gestures like this are needed now more than ever, especially when we don't see eye to eye."
