Dallas Chief Back To Work

Two-and-a-half weeks after his son was killed after murdering a Lancaster Police officer Dallas Police Chief David Brown is scheduled to be back in the office today.
It's been a rough time for the new chief; his son murdered Lancaster Police officer Craig Shaw and Jeremy McMillian, then was shot and killed by officers returning fire.  Then during his son's funeral police administrators a couple ranks lower ordered a motorcycle escort to help get through traffic.  That was done contrary to the Dallas City Manager's orders and without Brown's knowledge angering the Dallas Police Association.  Nobody from the City of Dallas has held the chief responsible and both City Manager Mary Suhm and Public Safety Committee chairman Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway have supported Brown.  The chief is scheduled to make his first public appearance tomorrow morning when he addresses the monthly breakfast of the Dallas Crime Commission.
