Best Live Blues In North Texas

When most people think of blues music, they think of B.B. King. Well, B.B. himself plays Dallas and Fort Worth music venues because there is such a love for this musical genre in North Texas. If you are looking for an evening out to enjoy live blues tunes, these five clubs are just what you have been looking for.

Tucker's Blues is located in the heart of Deep Ellum, next to the Twisted Roots Burger Company. This intimate club is unassuming on the outside, but provides wonderful ambiance on the inside. The club loves sharing stories of legendary blues musicians and the shows there take you to a different place in time. The drinks are cold and reasonably priced and the staff will make you feel right at home. If you love blues music, you'll definitely want to visit Tucker's Blues where the club ditches the notion that the blues have to be about being down and out and celebrates the genre's joyous tunes.

Stepping in to Pearl at Commerce is akin to stepping into Dallas history. The building is over 100 years old, but completely comfortable and spacious inside with high ceilings and a great sound system. The bar primarily presents jazz and blues musicians, though other genres of music are welcome. The Pearl motto is "Let your hair down, baby." If you want a nice night out surrounded by great music and fun people, Pearl is your place.

This cafe loves its jazz music, but blues can be heard live at the Brooklyn Jazz Café as well. It's a casual setting with plenty of drink deals and a delicious menu of steak, salmon, chicken and much more. It truly is a lounge and restaurant combo and Oak Cliff residents rave about this place. Dancing is not only allowed, it's encouraged here. There is plenty of parking on the street or in the private lot, so pay this venue a visit next time you are in Dallas.

Stumpy's Blues Bar is a great place to catch some live blues tunes on Friday and Saturday nights. Don't be fooled by the outdated look of the exterior, it's a lot of fun when you get inside. The bar hosts an open and casual crowd, and everyone who comes here is at Stumpy's to have a good time. With a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, pool tables and darts, you'll have plenty to do between music sets.

Imagine blues and Southern rock co-existing in one awesome place to create incredible music jams. This legendary combo is what you'll find at Keys Lounge. Thursday's boast what the lounge claims to be "the longest running blues jam in the Dallas/Fort Worth area", but all types of incredible musicians come to play at this Fort Worth venue. Live music is played seven nights a week with bands starting at 9 p.m. Sundays to Tuesdays and 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays.
