Its Pilates Remixed class is a 50-minute full-body workout that combines a Pilates, barre, yoga and strength training set to music. The Barre Remixed class is a ballet-inspired workout that incorporates movements and music. The Cycling Remixed class offered at the Snider Plaza location is no ordinary spin class. Pilates-based instruction on proper posture and body alignment help you have a more effective workout and increase your endurance.

You don't have to be a resident of Carrollton in order to enjoy the fitness classes offered at the Carrollton Recreation Center. You also don't have to pay a membership fee. You only pay the class fee. If you want to try something different without stressing out your body, belly dancing might be the way to go. The hour-long beginning and intermediate classes provide core strengthening and are fun. This type of dancing uses completely different muscles than you would use at a gym. The movements help you to feel beautiful. It is easier on your knees than Zumba because the movements are slower and more precise. Everybody is self-conscious initially but once you try it, you get over it and have fun.

The Bodybar's three metroplex locations offer nine different 50-minute classes. The Power Tower class is for a person seeking flexibility. It is a restorative workout that is great for a beginner or an athlete. The Reformer class is a basic foundational class that can be very intensive. The Cardio Chair class offers a combination of cardio floor exercises and a Pilates chair to strength your core. The Reformer Jump class is a combination a cardio workout and traditional Pilates. The uniqueness of this class is that you are jumping horizontally. It is a gentler exercise that is easy on the spine.

In an hour-and-20-minute Zumba class over 16 weeks, cardiovascular fitness is achieved through international dance movements. Fast and slow dance moves along with cardio exercises tailored to an individual's fitness level help build muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. This is a very intense, on-your-feet, non-stop moving class.

In a pole dance class you do a warm up, learn pole moves i.e., spinning around a pole like a fireman, front hook spin, attitude spin and back hook spin, as well as implement these moves in a free-style dance routine and then a cool down. This 75-minute class helps build upper body strength and fosters confidence. Class sizes are small (under 10 students) so students can receive individualized assistance when needed. There are co-ed as well as women-only classes.
