Wauconda man charged in 2024 hit-and-run in Chicago's Bucktown
CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was charged in connection to a hit-and-run crash that left a 40-year-old woman seriously hurt in Bucktown last year.
Michael Reznik, 37, of Wauconda, Illinois, was arrested on Tuesday in the 5500 block of West Grand Avenue. In addition to other citations, he was charged with felonies for leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated reckless driving, and a misdemeanor for failing to give information.
Police said he was identified as the suspect who was driving a 2009-2014 blue metallic Bentley four-door sedan when he hit the victim, leaving her seriously hurt, on May 4, 2024, in the 2000 block of West Armitage Avenue. He then left the scene without stopping to render aid.
Reznik appeared at a detention hearing on Wednesday.
