Two men injured after overnight stabbing in Towson, police say
BALTIMORE - A stabbing in Towson left two men injured early Saturday, according to Baltimore County police.
Officers responded to East Chesapeake Avenue around 12:35 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.
When they arrived, officers found two men suffering from several lacerations that appeared to be non-life-threatening. Both men were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries and are expected to survive.
According to police, the incident was a targeted attack after a fight broke out in the Towson bar district.
What began as a verbal argument, escalated into a physical altercation between two people, police said. During the fight, a suspect pulled out a knife.
One of the men attempted to separate the two people involved in the fight when he was injured, according to police.
Crime in Towson
In mid-December, nine people were injured and one died after a mass shooting and crash in Towson. Baltimore County police responded to the 8500 block of Loch Raven Boulevard where they found a car on its side in flames and several gunshot victims.
After the mass shooting, the Randallstown NAACP called on Maryland leaders to crack down on gun violence.
As police were investigating the incident, a man was arrested with an AK-47 and a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop. Officials did not say whether the arrest was linked to the mass shooting.
