The Color Purple

Location: Actor's Express

This landmark musical is raining down joy on the city of Atlanta once more at Actor's Express. This production will leave you breathless. Based on the amazing novel by Alice Walker, step back in time to witness the trials and triumphs of some of the most spiritual characters ever created. Stand Up for the Hooch SUP Race 

Date: Sunday, June 24, 2018 (7:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

Location: Morgan Falls Overlook Park

Buckhead's High Country Outfitters is hosting their 7th annual "Stand Up for the Hooch" SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) race on Sunday. Bring out the family and try your skill on two great courses: a 2-mile recreational race and a 6-mile professional race. Kids get to race free. I've tried to paddle board once and it's just...not for me. So win the race for me! With your ticket you get race admission, free t-shirt, lunch and drinks at the High Country Outfitters Afterparty. Robots Day

Location: Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Did Sophia the Robot really fascinate you when she threw shade? Well, come to Fernbank on Saturday to see some great robot demonstrations and figure out how artificial intelligence works--no shade required. The Stroller Run 

Date: Saturday, June 23, 2018 (9:30 AM)

Location: Piedmont Park

Moms and Dads take a stroll with your kiddies at Piedmont Park on Saturday morning. FIT4MOM, dedicated to providing fitness for all levels of motherhood, is sponsoring this great event. It's a 5K, but not an intense one. Come "run like a mom," all while supporting a good cause. Check out registration information here.


The Queeriety Variety Show: Pride Month 

Date: Saturday, June 23, 2018 (11:00 PM - 11:59 PM)

Location: Village Theatre

The Queeriety Variety Show is a zany, fun show with drag, improv and live comedy presented at the Village Theatre. This month they celebrate LGBTQA+ Pride, saying it will be their biggest show of the year! Outside the DeKalb County Board of Health will provide free HIV screenings in partnership with the Start Talking, Stop HIV Campaign. The Campaign will have a DIY animated GIF booth for you to give your best Miss Vanjie impression, or whatever it is you feel is most fabulous.
