Shane Battier, playing in the conference finals for the first time, scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds for the Heat, who were tied with Boston at halftime before breaking it open late.
Kevin Garnett scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Boston. The Celtics got 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists from Rajon Rondo, but it wasn't enough. As Celtics coach Doc Rivers said afterward, "In the third quarter, the game just got away from us."
